  • Cancellations:
    • Bookings must be cancelled 7 days in advance of your arrival date.
    • Deposits are non-refundable.
    • Please note that once a reservation has been made any changes (such as a reduction of days or changes of dates or change of room type) is deemed a cancellation of the original reservation and as such the deposit is forfeited - the application of it to the altered booking is entirely at our discretion. Changes such as additional days are not deemed cancellations and therefore if the accommodation is available the deposit is carried forward.
    • In the event of a no show or a cancellation with less than 7 days notice prior to the date of arrival, an amount equivalent to 100% of the total booking value will be charged. If you are concerned about the possibility of cancellation you are advised to take out Travel Insurance.
  • A deposit by Credit, Debit or Charge Card is normally required. Cheques can also be accepted.
  • Bookings must be guaranteed by Credit, Debit or Charge Card.
  • At Weekends there is normally a requirement for a minimum of 2 nights stays. However please ask for availability of 1 night stays.
  • During August and New Year a minimum 2 Nights Stays is normally required.
  • Standard Check-in is from 4.30 and no later than 8pm (20.00) . For pre-advised and unavoidable arrivals after 20.00 - arrangements can be put in place. For arrivals before 3pm (15.00) luggage can be stored.
  • Check out Monday to Friday is by 10.30am ~ Saturday and Sunday by 11.00am; an extended checkout may be available by arrangement.
  • The white house is a no - smoking house - both bedrooms and public areas and of course dining room. Thank you!
  • Pets. Although we appreciate our animal friends - pets are not allowed at The White House. Sorry!
          Any damage incurred by a guest in the house or grounds will be charged to them
 .
All personal items must be put away for the room to be cleaned nothing of a personal nature to be left on the bed
 

Access Statement:

Introduction

The White House is a small family run bed and breakfast. We will endeavour to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. For the special occasion we can provide Flowers, Chocolates, Fruit, Wine, Champagne on your arrival.

The house is 260 years old (Georgian) style. It was built as a merchant house backing on to the river. ( The river has the now been moved further back into the fields ).

 

·         Pre-Arrival

·         We are easy to find just off the A 35  on the Bridport by-pass, turn left into West Bay Road and we situated 200m on the right. We are surrounded with wonderful countryside, and only a short walk to the sea , harbour and town centre.

·         The nearest shops are approximately a 5 minutes walk in the  Market Town of Bridport . Market days are Wednesdays and Saturdays.

·         The bus stops 20m from our entrance when heading towards town. The Jurassic Coastal bus X 53 passes by every 2 hours and the local bus every 30 minutes.

·         The nearest railway stations are Administer, approximately 12 miles away and Dorchester 16 miles. Taxis are usually available at the station but we can book one for you in advance if required.  Also there is Car Hire available at Dorchester Station.

·         There are several local taxi companies; we can make bookings in advance for you.

·         The nearest RADAR Toilet is located West St, Bridport and disabled toilets at the Town Hall.  

 

 

Arrival and Car Parking

 

·         We will be here to welcome you from 4.30pm      Please advise if you wish to arrive at a different time or are delayed.

·         To ensure your accommodation is ready we ask that guests do not normally arrive before 2.30pm. Earlier arrival may, however, be possible by arrangement.

·         There is ample parking at the rear of the house. Whilst looking at the house , on the left hand side you will see a drive-way, which you follow
to the end.

·         Please park as near to the hedge as possible and facing out .

·         We are very happy to assist with luggage.

 

     House access

 

  Entry is from the front , where there is one step , and a right turn into the guest bedrooms, which are all on the same floor, for breakfast, you will need to go down 12 steps to the garden room, breakfast is served from 7.30 am until 9 am , for anyone not being able to gain access the breakfast room , we can serve you in your room, you will need to inform us upon your arrival.

 

Access from the rear parking is though the garden and up 12 steps to the guest rooms.

 

Fire escapes are though the front and rear doors and of course the windows, all rooms and hallways have smoke detectors and in the unlikely event of a fire you will meet in the front of the house.

 

There is a night bell situated in the hall for any emergencies.
