Foodie Guide

by steveblakesley on June 7, 2013

I am often asked , where to go to eat, fortunately in this part of Dorset we have an abundance of good food outlets, so in no particular order,  I love the Riverside in westbay, predominantly Fish but serves a number of other dishes, the fish soup is to die for, make sure you book in advance.

Still in Westbay the Seagulls restaurant always gets good marks , as does the Westbay Hotel, The watch House is great for Lunch with great views of the beach on nice sunny days, moving on to Burton Bradstock , the Anchor is not to be missed.

There are  a few country pubs not to far outside Bridport i can recomend, The Pymore inn, the Shaves Cross, The Spyway , llchester Arms, The Loders Arms , The Crown Uploaders , The Crown Puncknowle, Hare and Hounds Netherbury,The  Elm Tree Langton Herring , The White Horse .

Then in Town both Indian Restaurants are good , and a lttle further in Dorchester The Raj Poot , is highly recommended , Spice Chinese is good , the wine bar Beach and barnicots does nice food as does The Market House , and a great place for lunch is Lula’s.

More to come ………..

Lots of excitement went on in Westbay and surrounding area which made this a busy summer for the locals with the filming of the new ITV crime drama BROADCHURCH in westbay, Starring DAVID TENANT,ANDREW BUCHAN,OLIVIA COLEMAN,JODIE WHITTAKAR It centers around The murder of a young boy in a small coastal town brings a media frenzy, which threatens to tear the community apart, it is shown on Mondays at 9pm
I will not spoil it for you , if you miss any of the episodes you can catch up on the iTVplayer, lets hope it fairs better than Nick Berry’s Harbour Lights TV Series, The area can do with some more exposure.
It shows some great coastal shots and scenes of the Harbour side , most of the interior shots and high street shots where taken around the studios in Bristol area i am told
