Bridport Food Festival

If you are in the area This Summer’s Food Festival why not stay in one of Dorsets Best B&B’s The White house , The event promises a whole week of delicious, colourful and engaging food events for people of all ages from 12-18th June. Whether you are local to Bridport, or visiting the town, you’re sure to find something to enjoy.

For the last Two years Bridport has been voted Best Food Town in the Taste of Dorset Awards, it is in its eighth year, the Festival is a celebration of the worth of great local food; both to the people that grow it and those who enjoy it! The work of a team of dedicated and enthusiastic supporters.

Festival Week Events

Open Farm Sunday

Sunday 12 June

Once again this year’s festival kicks off with Open Farm Sunday – a great opportunity to go “behind the scenes” at working farms and meet the farmers who grow their food and care for the countryside.

Locally, both Denhay Farm and Washingpool Farm will be opening to visitors.

From Monday 13

Bridport Museum Culinary Trail – all week; explore the museum to unearth food tools of the past. Museum entrance is FREE. Open Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm)

Tuesday 14 June

Meet and Eat Cooking for the Over 50′s A hands-on cookery workshop, producing a seasonal summer lunch using locally sourced produce Time: 14.00pm – 15.30pm; Cost: £7.50 – must book in advance. Big Bridport Picnic Pack your hamper with local food and bring-your-own community picnic to celebrate the abundance of local produce we can enjoy in and around Bridport. In addition, SW Dorset Local Exchange Trading System’s members will be trading in local currency (Nets) or cash to non-members. 12 noon – 3pm Bridport Community Orchard and St Mary’s Hall, South St, Bridport.
