The White House

The White House is a relaxed and informal family run Four Star  Bed and Breakfast ( b&b) accommodation placed ideally between Bridport and Westbay, surround by the Fossil rich Jurassic beaches of  the Dorset Coast, one of the Top rated places to stay in Dorset.

The White House recently Stared in the Hit Channel Four TV series Three in a Bed, and received great reviews.

Not only do we aim to promote Dorset accommodation at its very best, but also Bridport and West Bay Accommodation at the highest level.

Situated in West Dorset ,the heart of the Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural world heritage site, a unique 95 mile stretch of coast line.

We are just a few minutes walk into the market town of Bridport and an equal distance to West Bay’s historic Harbour, where you will find the fabulous breath taking Jurassic beaches while only a few miles further along the coast you can go fossil hunting on the beaches of Charmouth, but you are also far enough away from the hustle and bustle of city life so that you can relax and enjoy yourselves.

Of course for those of  you who wish we are only a short drive to shopping centres such as Exeter, Yeovil, Dorchester, and of course Weymouth – home of the 2012 Olympic Games sailing events.

All of us at the White House will endeavour to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible, whilst staying you have Free use of the Desk top PC which is situated in the hallway, or if you have your own Lap Top you can connect to the WiFi.

The house is a classic 260 years old (Georgian) style. It was built as a merchant house backing on to the river. ( The river has now been moved further back into the fields ).

The White House is decorated and furnished in a classic style without the hint of chintz, every endeavour has been taken to make the rooms as comfortable as possible, with gloriously comfortable Silent Night mattresses, and Egyptian cotton bed linen, as well as anti-allergy pillows.

The bathrooms which are all en-suite have tiled floors and powerful showers.

We have Three deluxe rooms Two Doubles the Abraham Lincoln Room and the Thomas Jefferson Room, and one Twin room the J F Kennedy Room.

The rooms are all on the ground floor, but our helpful staff will always help you with your bags.

Breakfast is served down stairs in the Garden room between 8 am and 9 am where a delicious choice of menu awaits you. The Breakfast room looks on to a walled garden. And in good weather if you wish you may take your breakfast in the garden to eat.
